The General Evaluator (GE) is the Grand Master at a meeting. S/he is responsible for observing every little detail of the meeting e.g. room set-up, meeting start and end times, guest treatment etc., etc.
The GE presides over almost a third of our meetings. S/he introduces each evaluator, calls on the Timer, Grammarian and Ah Counter to give their reports, and by evaluating the evaluators and the overall meeting.
The GE’s role requires a thorough understanding and experience with all club roles. S/he is a seasoned evaluator because s/he has to give feedback wherever it is helpful; this means not only pointing out what didn’t work and could be improved, but also acknowledging what worked well and giving lavish praise where it’s due.
