Evaluators evaluate each prepared speech.  Sounds formal, and it is a bit, but don’t let that scare you.  Evaluators are themselves coached to make sure that each evaluation is constructive and leaves the speaker motivated to give another speech.

Preparation and Resources

Your new member kit will contain a booklet on evaluation.  That’s basically all you’ll need to begin your career as an evaluator, that and a capacity (which you will develop) to listen and observe for what makes a good speech.

Toastmasters International description of the Evaluator’s role

You must have given at least three speeches yourself before you can do your first evaluation.
